OUR STORY
by Jake Lawrance, Founder
HPT was born from my constant frustration with the fitness industry.

The fads. The bullsh*t. The nonsense. The low barriers to entry that allows the industry to be flooded with unskilled and unprofessional Personal Trainers and workers.
The big gym companies that run their business with the single hope that you don't actually show up (because if you did - their business model wouldn't work!).

The large group studios that pack 60 in a class and, quite literally, lure in you in with smoke and mirrors.

The "influencers" whose only purpose is to push crazy content in order to drive advertising revenue or sell unnecessary supplements.

The "Online Trainers" who sell copy and paste programmes so they can pretend they live it large in Dubai.

The industry sucks. It needs improvement. And our goal is to be part of that positive change.

We are guided by a simple belief: Things can, and should, be done better to help people improve their health and lives...
HPT has been a success simply because we try to do the best for those who choose to train with us.

OUR MISSION
To make world-class personal training more accessible, flexible, and results-focused than ever.
THE PROBLEM WITH 1-ON-1 PERSONAL TRAINING
Now, this isn't me bashing an entire subset of the industry. But having started a Personal Training business in Mayfair at 23 and conducted over 5,000 hours of 1-on-1 Personal Training - I have a very good idea of the problems that arise.

While 1-on-1 training has its place, it comes with major downsides: it’s expensive (very expensive), inflexible, often intimidating, and finding a high-quality trainer is difficult.

Most trainers are poorly qualified, inexperienced, and don't take the job seriously - they're always running late or on their phone during sessions. They don't plan sessions and never keep track of your progress. Not good.

Even if you manage to find great trainer, sessions and relationships can become too familiar and so intensity and progress drops off. We've all seen the client and PT in the gym who do nothing but talk for an hour, and maybe you've even experienced first hand having to become your Personal Trainer's psychologist for the personal trauma they're going through.
THE PROBLEM WITH LARGE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Again, I can speak to the problems with Large Group Fitness Classes because I owned one of the top performing large group fitness franchises in Europe (I sold it in Jan 2020).

Big classes lack personal coaching - too many people, generic programming, and a higher risk of injury due to limited instruction. While great for those already experienced, they’re not ideal if you need guidance, modifications, or injury considerations.
SGPT: THE PERFECT MIDDLE GROUND
Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) combines the best of both worlds:
✅ Personalised coaching - Only 6 people per session, ensuring proper technique, injury modifications, and tailored workouts
✅ Custom nutrition & accountability – Guidance, progress tracking, and a trainer keeping you on track
✅ Flexible & affordable – More accessible than 1-on-1 training, with 50 sessions per week to fit your schedule
✅ Community-driven – Train alongside others for motivation, camaraderie, and that extra push to work harder.
SGPT provides effective, personalised, and sustainable training—without the downsides of traditional PT or large classes.

It's a no-brainer really. We provide 95% of what 1-on-1 Personal Training provides (and in many cases more) but with greater flexibility, and at a fraction of the price.
HOW HAS IT BEEN RECEIVED?
At the time of writing this, we have over 200+ 5 star reviews for our Bank location, hundreds of amazing transformations and a happy and loyal client base.

We are the highest rated Small Group Personal Training studio in London having overtaken studios that have been around for over a decade longer than us.

So it's gone quite well.

We have a single focus - to keep doing the best job we possibly can in helping people change their life for the better.
